Columbia SC Heirloom  PHOTOGRAPHER

Heirloom Portraits

Southern heirloom portraits are a classic, timeless style of photography that is especially popular here in South Carolina. This style of portraits can be easily identified by the white, artistically-faded vignette that brings the focus directly to your child's precious face.

These quick sessions are offered on a year-round, and are ideal for children ages 6 months to 12 years. Please note babies must be able to sit on their own, unsupported.

classic heirloom portraits

Heirloom portraits are typically done between 6 months (or as soon as baby can sit unsupported) up through 13 years old.

The ideal age for these, however, is between 1-5 years old.

what is the best age for heirloom portraits

Wardrobe choices are one of the most important elements of achieving the vintage look of these portraits. When selecting your clothing, choose looks that are classic and timeless. For boys, a collared "peter pan" style shirt is ideal. Girls typically wear smocked bishop dresses or rompers. White or light pastel colors work best.

Some popular brands to consider are Feltman Brothers, Bailey Boys, Sophie & Lucas, or similar styles.

what to wear

This depends on the age and temperament of the child, but these can usually be done in about 20-30 minutes. If your child is between 8-24 months, please allow extra time because this age does not prefer to sit still!  Bring all of your best bribes and dance moves to keep these kiddos engaged during these sessions.

how long is the session?

My most popular heirloom product is definitely framed wall art. Pictures don't do justice to how incredible these images look framed.

Matted fine art prints are also a good option and are great for gifts for family members or to put up at your office.

what products do you recommend?

Just fill out my contact form and I'll send you my full pricing guide. We'll have a quick consultation and if everything sounds good, we'll proceed with reserving your date.

There is a $250 session fee due at the time of booking to hold your date. This session fee covers your session, the photographer's time and talent, product design, and ordering appointment.

All products are purchased separately at the ordering appointment.

HOW do i book a session?

You may choose to have your ordering appointment on the same day as the session or within one week of your session. Once you've made your selection, I will do full edits on the images you'd like to have printed. These edits are very time-consuming, so I will only edit the ones you love. From there it will take an additional 2-3 weeks to receive your final framed product.
