Whether this is your first baby or your fifth, your life is about to change in the best way!
By the time your baby arrives, you will have been through months of pregnancy symptoms and through the physical pain of labor, and now you deserve beautiful photographs of this incredible life that you've brought into the world.
I offer two types of Newborn Sessions - Posed and Lifestyle. Both may be done in the comfort of your home. You have a new baby - the last thing you want to do is get everyone in the car and have to drive somewhere! You and your baby will be much more relaxed in a familiar environment, so as long as you have the space, I'll come to you! (There's no travel fee as long as you are located within 20 miles of Columbia)

THE NEWBORN EXPERIENCE
You should reserve your spot on my calendar as early as possible, but you should aim for at least 6 weeks prior to your due date. Ideally we want to do your session 7-14 days after your baby is born.
Several factors can come into play when planning your specific date, but we'll work together to find the date that works best for your specific pregnancy.
when should i schedule my session
I do most of my sessions in-studio, and at this time I do not have a studio large enough to accommodate a full maternity session. However, if you book a newborn session with me, I can add on an outdoor maternity session for $250. (Digital and printed images purchased separately.)
WHAT DO I WEAR?
If you would like to be in the photos with your new baby, I will send you a style guide with my recommendations.
To stay consistent with the style you see on my website, I recommend light/neutral/earthy tones for both parents. Siblings should wear light colors or pastels with no large logos or elements.

how do i book my session?
At this time I prefer to stay within 30 minutes of my location. Areas I can travel to include Columbia, Forest Acres, Wildewood, Irmo, and most of Lexington. Locations beyond 30 minutes will incur a travel fee.

THE INVESTMENT
Book a lifestyle session
Lifestyle sessions are done in your home (usually the baby's nursery) and feature the whole family plus details of the baby and the nursery. Older babies (over two weeks) work well with lifestyle sessions - they are more awake and alert which allows me to capture your connection.
These work great if you've spent a lot of time decorating your dream nursery. Keep in mind, proper lighting is crucial for photography, so bedrooms with large windows work best. I also always recommend light colored walls and furniture. If your nursery doesn't look like that, no worries, I'll work with what you have!
Lifestyle session fee is $250

Lifestyle Sessions
book a posed session
Posed sessions are done on a large posing beanbag using different fabric backdrops and wraps. My style with these is clean and minimal allowing all of the focus to be on the baby.
For these types of posed sessions, I recommend photographing your baby around the 2 week mark. They tend to sleep much better which makes them much easier to curl into the adorable poses we all love.
Parents are not usually included in this session, but siblings may be.
These sessions can be done in your home or in my home studio.
Plan for these sessions to take 2-3 hours depending on baby. This will include breaks for nursing and diaper changes.
